PLANS FOR NEXT WEEK: Since Reno county remains in the red zone, we will continue to remain cautious. At this point, next week will look very similar to this past week, with small cohort groups of students that do not mix during the day. Please continue to do what you can so that we can keep students and staff on campus!
October 23,2020
Fairfield Community,
We have been notified that an individual at Fairfield had a positive test for COVID-19. Our district has been in regular communication with the Reno County Health Department on this matter. Any persons who were considered a “close contact “ of the individual have been contacted and sent home to quarantine. If you have not been notified, you may assume your student was not affected.
Although notification to all families is not required, we feel sharing this information with our Fairfield family is important. Our priority is to keep our students and staff safe and healthy while providing an exceptional education. Please continue to wash your hands, wear a face mask , and practice social distancing. Thank you.
At this point our plans for next week will be similar to those of this past week, with students in small cohorts that do not mix. If there are any changes to that plan, we will notify you immediately.
Mrs. Wilson's 2nd grade class has been researching all about different types of storms this week in order to find out what makes them dangerous. Each group got to choose a storm to research, and also choose a way to present their information. Please enjoy these creative presentations of their learning!

We can make arrangements to get them to you! Thanks again for making USD #310 a great Falcon Family!!!

We will be in the RED Zone next week because of the new numbers in Reno County: 259 non-prisoner new, active cases and a Positive Test Rate of 18.9%, for the last 14 days. We expected this to happen based on last week’s numbers, so the BOE discussed and helped plan what would happen this week with our school district, if we continued to NOT instances of cases on our campus.
Here is our plan for next week:
1. All PK-12 students can attend classes on campus ONLY if we keep our students in small, cohort groups. That means that even middle and high schoolers stay with the same small group of students all day. They do not intermingle and do not change classrooms. We did this at FMS and FHS this past week as part of our modified orange. This also means that there will be some rearranging of students in FES classes that are too large. That is being worked on right now.
2. All students will eat lunch in their classrooms, with the exception of Pre-K and Kindergarten. Pre-K will spread out in the cafeteria to eat, while Kindergarten students will eat in the concessions area.
3. There will be no spectators for sports next week. Fortunately we do not have many home games left, but there is a home FHS football game scheduled on Friday, October 23rd. We will broadcast that game for you online, but there will be no spectators allowed on campus. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is being done for safety reasons and to allow the student athletes to play.
4. Sports activities and practices will continue, but only active participants may travel to away games.
5. We will follow the rules of the schools we visit for away games. If they allow spectators, you will be able to attend. We will post details on our social media to inform you.
6. There will continue to be NO AFTER-SCHOOL program.
The majority of our parents and patrons have been supportive, and we can’t thank you enough for helping us through this challenging time. We remain committed to educating children on campus, as long as it is safe to do so. We remain committed to keeping you informed and to being transparent as to what is happening. As of today, we have no positive case among our staff and students, but that could easily change. We will do our best to keep you updated.
