MIRACLE MINUTE THURSDAY NIGHT
We are passing on this message from Jennifer Becker, the Canton-Galva High School Cheer Coach. Weather permitting, our Boys FHS team will head to Canton Galva on Thursday night, February 17th, to play at 6:30. Here is Jennifer’s message:
“We are going to participate in the Miracle Minute during our game with you Thursday which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are on this mission to help support a challenge that began in McPherson (see information below). Here's how you can help. Please spread the word and ask fans to bring some extra change or cash they are willing to donate to the cause. We will set the timer for 1 minute between the 1st and 2nd quarters of the game. During this time, we will invite everyone in attendance to help us fill our containers with donations. I will greet your Cheerleaders and Coach tomorrow when they arrive and ask them to be a part of the collection process. We will then announce the total amount collected later in the game.”
Here is more information on the Miracle Minute: Each year, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) launches its Students of the Year fundraising campaign. McPherson High School Seniors, Sydney Achilles and Kaylee Zeitlow, were nominated to participate. They accepted the challenge, created a team (Bullpups Beat Cancer), and have set a goal to raise $50,000 during a seven-week fundraising period ending March 11. Last week, at their home basketball game, they held a “Miracle Minute” and collected $1600 in JUST ONE MINUTE!!! The girls were blown away and literally moved to tears as they watched two schools (and their fans) come together for a great cause! It was ONE MINUTE of kindness and generosity that will have a lifetime impact on the fight against cancer.
How awesome would it be if more high schools across the state joined their “team” and had a “Miracle Minute” for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and helped Kaylee and Sydney get to $50,000!?? Canton-Galva and Fairfield, are YOU up for the challenge? Two teams, one cause. Let’s beat cancer! More about Sydney and Kaylee’s campaign can be found here, https://events.lls.org/mid/wichitasoy22/tbullpupsb. You can also follow their Facebook Page, Bullpups Beat Cancer, for updates! THANK YOU for your time and consideration.

Brady Fowler and Alayna Duffield were named FHS winter homecoming king and queen! Congratulations to all of our candidates.
