Our final player spotlight is Sophomore Diesel Payne. Diesel says "I chose my parents because they have always been with me during the highs and lows, they always push me to be the best me I can be and they always have my back no matter what, I couldn’t ask for anything better than them."

Sophomore Gage Brown talks about his person of inspiration. I chose to give my jersey to coach Nisly, because he is always very positive and encouraging before games and he makes sure I understand what I’m doing and if I do something wrong he makes sure I know what I did and how to fix it. On top of that he greets me almost every morning as I walk into school, and always has something goofy to say. Overall he is very inspiring and a great guy.

Freshman William McIver steps into the player spotlight to tell us about his inspirational person. Leo inspires me just by the great example he always sets, his positive attitude, and just by how well mannered he is. Leo is a great kid and motivates me to play hard

Sophomore Brodie Snodgrass is in the spotlight now. I picked my sister because she Is someone I can look up to. She’s really smart and funny, she is her own person and is super brave. She always tries her best to look out for me and I really appreciate her for doing so. I’ve known my sister for my whole life and she has always been there for me if I really needed it. She comes to my games as much as she can and I’m always happy to see her supporting me through whatever happens.

Our next player spotlight is Freshman Dominic Sader. I chose my mom as the person who inspires me because, she always supports what I want to do even if she doesn’t agree with me. My mom has always been my number 1 supporter and goes to all my games that she can. She pushes me to do my best and try my hardest. That is why my mom is my inspiration.

The player spotlight is now on Senior Calen Wente. Mr. Chris Hewitt has been a person in my life that has shown me the vision of knowing what success looks like. He has made me understand to push myself the hardest when things aren't the best. The biggest thing I take from him is my work ethic, I'm not going to get any better if I don't make any changes. Whether it be the weight on the bar or how many more reps I do… to get something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done. He has always been there for me no matter the circumstance. He has made a big impact on me as a person, student, athlete and leader. Thank you Coach Hewitt.

Next up for our player spotlight we have Sophomore Chase Combs. I gave my jersey to Mr. Finder, because he has encouraged me to work hard both in and out of the game. Even when Mr. Finder was extremely busy and he had a new baby and his wife was in the hospital. He has still found the time to be able to drive from Hutch every morning to have weights with me and my fellow teammates. He showed that he wasn't just here just for the title of coach but that he actually cares and wants the best for us. What he showed me by showing up, even when life was complicated, made me want to work harder and to never give up because here you have to work for the good. Thank You Coach Finder

The next player spotlight is Junior Connor Fowler. I gave my jersey to my mom. I look up to her because she always tries her best and works extremely hard to care for everyone in my family. She also is super forgiving when I do something wrong and helps me when I need it. I think this is why my mom is a great role model and I’m lucky she gets my jersey.

This past week Coach Finder asked the football players to present their white jersey to a family member, coach, or a member of the teaching staff that has had a significant impact on their life and been an inspiration to them. Throughout today and tomorrow we will be presenting those with a small caption on why they chose their person of inspiration. Our first player spotlight is Junior Garrett Lanning. I chose to give my jersey to coach Hewitt. Over the short time I’ve known him he has always been able to give me words of advice that have pushed me to be the best me I can be. Though he may call me names along the way, he has inspired me to be a better student, and athlete. Thank you coach.
