Falcons fall to Goessel

Next week there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday due to inservice. Beginning on Tuesday, 10/13/20, Fairfield will transition into the FULL ORANGE stage of our gating criteria. This is due to exponential growth of the virus in Reno County in the past week. We are now at 168 new cases and a positive test rate of 14.7 %, and this number excludes prisoners. What does this mean for USD #310? All students will still be on campus, except those who are already remote learners. The elementary school day will basically look the same. However, the 7th-12th graders will see a schedule change where they will stay in the same room with the same small cohort group throughout the day, following their normal Wednesday schedule. Sports activities will not change because all games are "away" next week so we will follow the home school's rules. This action is recommended by both the RCHD and KSDE as the best way to be able to keep schools open. We are committed to keeping our schools open as long as possible. Thank you for your support and remember to do what you can to help: socially distance, wear a mask, and wash your hands.

Today was finger painting day in our Daycare and we thought you might enjoy some pictures of the fun!

October 4th-10th is National 4-H Week! USD 310 congratulates all students and parents who participate in this program that encourages leadership and personal growth. Feel free to post a picture of your USD 310 4-H student or their projects! Great job to all of the USD 310 4-H members. If your family would like to join 4-H, please see Mrs. Mathes, Shala Metzger or any current Western Reno County 4-H member!

Per our established protocol, we have first contacted Reno County Health Department for verification and to provide the names of close contacts at school Individuals determined to be a close contact of the positive person will be notified by the district and the Health Department. We are thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting areas within the school facility. The district is closely monitoring this situation and will notify families if any additional action needs to be taken in the future.

MODIFIED ORANGE: For the week beginning Monday, October 5th, Fairfield USD #310 will move to a Modified Orange stage of our Covid-19 Gating Chart. Overall, while we are faring well so far at Fairfield, the Reno County Covid-19 numbers are trending upward with 148 new confirmed cases and a 13.7% Positive Test Rate over the past two weeks. (These numbers do not include prisoner cases.) Modified Orange will bring the following changes to USD #310: No spectators to indoor sports; No After-School Program; and Changes in the FMS/FHS lunch schedule and seating to create more social distancing. We are sorry for any inconvenience or problems this may cause for you. Our main priority is to keep students in school and to keep them healthy.
