For her senior project, Sierra Lanning is hosting a book drive for the elementary school. The book drive will run from April 3-14. Books can be dropped off in either the high/middle school office or in the elementary library.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We are having our 26th annual 3 on 3 Falcon Athletic Club basketball tournament on Saturday, April 8th at 9 AM. In this tournament, we will begin with pool play and then bracketed. The teams almost always play 4 or 5 games minimum. Teams can be up to 4 players, but each player will play on only one team. The winners will receive t-shirts and take a picture to go in the paper!

It was a wonderful day at South Barber for the FHS Choir, who received a II rating. Erin Schwertfeger, Zack Zongker, and Lucy Steen all earned I ratings, while Kyle Haskins got a II. Ms. Rome commented, " I’m so proud of these students!!!"

Yesterday, 22 Fairfield students participated in the Pratt Academic Olympics at Pratt Community College. The following students finished in the top three of their areas. AG Mechanics-Charles Mendenhall 1st Place Animal Sci-Zack Zongker 2nd Place American Gov-Gage Fischer 1st Place Mousetrap Car-Connor Fowler and Diesel Payne 3rd Place Congratulations to these students and the others that participated yesterday.

Today the Falcon lifters traveled to Meade to compete. Garrett Lanning our only male competitor placed well in his 242 weight class earning a 2nd place in the power cleans, 3rd in the bench and squat and a 3rd place overall finish. Estrella Sanchez competed in the women’s power weight division and earned a 2nd in the squat, 3rd in the bench, and 4th over all. Ami Foster competed in the 114 women’s class she earned the 4th spot in squat and finished 7th overall. we made some nice progress today as we continue to prepare for the state meet in April. Senior Sierra Lanning competed at the 4-1A state wrestling championships in Salina this week. She finished just outside the medal round, but was one of the last 8 wrestlers standing in her weight bracket. Congratulations on a great season.
