Fairfield Schools has the following positions available

Custodian:

PURPOSE: The Custodian provides a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment to ensure full and productive use of district facilities. To accomplish these tasks the custodian must work closely with the staff and administration of the district.

 RESPONSIBLE TO: Lead Custodian and Superintendent

 PAYMENT RATE: Salary will be established by the board of education.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the central office (after employment offer is made)

  • Ability to understand chemical hazards.

  • Ability to work independently without supervision

  • Ability to manually lift a maximum of 60 pounds

  • Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance

BUS DRIVER:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dependable and reliable.

  • Solid driving record and able to pass background check.

  • Class A or B CDL with "S" and "P" endorsement.  Must pass a "P" and "S" endorsement knowledge test and a road test in a school bus.

PAYMENT RATE: Base pay for regular routes is $23.75 per route with 2 routes per day and can increase with proof of driving experience.

 Preschool Para:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary training and/or experience in education preferred.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for working with children.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Works under the direction of classroom teachers. 

  • Assists individual and small groups of students in need of special attention. 

  • Reinforces skills introduced by the teacher. 

  • Assists in obtaining needed assessments. 

  • Assists in planning for individual student improvement. 

  • Participates in in-service training as recommended by the teacher and building administrator. 

  • Supervision duties as assigned by the building administrator. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 School term, on days when students are in class.

Daycare Assistant:

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated aptitude for working with children.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Works under the direction of daycare director and superintendent. 

  • Reinforces skills introduced by the director. 

  • Supervision duties as assigned by the daycare director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 School term, on days when students are in class, with the possibility of summer daycare being open. 

District Technology Coordinator:

QUALIFICAATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Network administrator certificate preferred

  • Two years of experience in network management preferred

  • Strong understanding of technology applications and how they are used in a classroom

  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable

REPORTS TO:

Superintendent

JOB GOAL:

  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of all technology hardware and software using the Data Team data base.

  • Provide up-to-date and timely information on new technology and software.

  • Research and report educational applications of new technology, including hardware and software.

  • Maintain and repair all district technology including the wireless network, computers., server, and other hardware.

  • Monitor internet use and report concerns to the Superintendent

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preform network management functions

  • Ensure prescribed service-quality objectives are met

  • Identifies and resolves complex voice and/or data communications network problems; arranges for vendor support if necessary

  • Understanding of IP Telephony solutions with respect to network design characteristics and related configuration of hardware and end-user devices

  • Knowledge of current computer, component, and network security systems and techniques in order to prepare for such attacks and recommend new techniques in order to prepare for such attacks and recommend new techniques and methods of defense

  • Keep the network (and the services that the network provides) up and running smoothly. It includes monitoring the network to spot problems as soon as possible, ideally before users are affected

  • Keep track of resources in the network and how they are assigned, including all the "housekeeping" necessary to keep the network under control

  • Preform repairs and upgrades

  • Research and evaluate voice and/or data software and hardware, services, and other communications equipment; applies hardware and software release upgrades; recommends improved and most efficient hardware, software, and procedures

  • Maintain the server, including software security patches, operating system updates, performance tuning, log analysis, application updates and bug fixes

  • Develop communication network plans and strategies including standards, current and future network topology, and capacity planning

  • Validate new technologies proposed for use

  • Install and/or coordinate equipment installation

  • Assists in short and long term planning including the development of strategic plans to leverage emerging technology to support future enterprise needs

  • Meets with vendors to hold product demonstrations and to resolve communication network issues

  • Repairs and maintains computers

  • Purchase and oversees all software

  • Keep licensing up to date

  • Work with principals, department heads, teachers, and others who will help implement the district technology plan

  • Understand the district budget, budgeting process, and spending process, and work within this system to secure adequate resources for instructional computing

  • Help to ensure that school-level budgets and the district budgeting and distributing resources

  • Work with administration and faculty to write grants for implementation of technology related educational programs

  • Other duties as assigned by the board and the superintendent

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve-month year

Salary to be established by the USD 310 Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Job performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the USD 310 policy evaluation of non-certified personnel.
