FAIRFIELD USD #310 Reopening Plan

Fall 2023-2024

Updated 8/21/2023

  • Screening of symptoms will follow the CDC guidelines utilized by our school nurse.  Quarantine rules/protocol from the Reno County Health Department will be followed.

  • Free COVID screening tests are available on campus and  take approximately 15 minutes. Local vaccination clinics will be held and advertised.

  • Face masks may be used by all staff and students. Face masks may be a requirement if COVID numbers escalate.

  • Classroom safeguards will include cohorting classes if COVID numbers increase. In grades 6-12, staggered release times and grade level gatherings will be utilized to provide social distancing when needed. USD 310 will not offer remote learning as a regular alternative to the in-school format, unless directed to do so by KSDE.

  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available on campus. Students and staff will be required to wash or sanitize their hands daily on a regular basis. Anyone entering district buildings is encouraged to sanitize hands upon entry.

  • Foggers will be used throughout the building on high touch and high traffic areas. Staff will routinely wipe down high touch areas in classrooms. We will continue our COVID cleaning protocol.

  • Staff will be cognizant of spreading students out if COVID cases rise. As much as possible, we will strive to achieve social distancing to limit close contact, if COVID  case numbers are increasing.

  • Visitor access to our buildings will be allowed unless COVID cases rise. If COVID cases rise, a screener test may be required for entry into our buildings.

  • Appropriate accommodations will be made for children with disabilities with respect to health and safety. Continuity of service for staff/students will be maintained and monitored, in regard to academic, social, emotional, mental, health, and physical needs.

  • This plan will be reviewed and updated every six months beginning June 2021.
