Fort Hays State University Department of Nursing proudly presents The Nightingale Experience scheduled for July 10-11, 2019. This exciting experience is designed for students who have an interest in nursing or have some interest in the medical field. Eligible students will be sophomores, juniors or seniors for the 2019-2020 school year.
The event begins at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 10, with a Nursing Preview day and ends at 3:30 pm on Thursday, July 11. On day one, students and parents or guardians are invited to a Nursing Preview Day to learn more about the FHSU nursing program and visit the Department of Nursing. After lunch, parents/guardians will leave and the camp begins.
Students will stay in the dorms and experience the new, state of the art simulation lab for ICU, ER and OB and learn more about becoming a nurse. In the evening there will be group activities and team building related to nursing.
On day two, students will go to HaysMed where they will get a glimpse of a day in the life of a nurse.
The cost is $100 and covers all expenses for room, board, materials, activities and attendance at HaysMed. Plus, you get a free t-shirt!
